Our work with governmental entities has taken the
form of acting as a receiver for regulated entities, providing expert
opinion at both civil and criminal proceedings and consulting with government
counsel to assist in their understanding of complex financial transactions.
In this regard, we regularly work with such investigative agencies as
the FBI, IRS and U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Examples of our Litigation Support experience are listed below.
- Claybrook & Associates has been named as expert witnesses
and acted as consultants to counsel in cases involving breach of protective
covenant, loss profits analysis, banking and banking practices, director
and officer liability, fraud and many other areas involving matters
of accounting, auditing, financial analysis and business judgment.
- Claybrook & Associates has been engaged to investigate
and evaluate the liquidation value of a national movie theatre chain
in support of litigation aimed at recovery of losses and of preferential
payments and fraudulent conveyances. We have been named as expert witnesses
and acted as consultants to counsel in cases involving director and
officer liability, fraud and other areas involving matters of accounting,
financial analysis and business judgment.
- Claybrook & Associates has evaluated and provided expert
testimony in criminal investigations and litigation involving bankruptcy
fraud and fraudulent and fictitious financial transactions. Similar
work has been provided to the U. S. Attorney’s Office, as well
as other state and local governmental agencies.
