Our staff includes accountants, former mangers of
industry and investigators who are experienced with the problems faced
by reorganizing or liquidating companies. Claybrook & Associates
has acted as accountants and financial consultants to creditors’ committees,
liquidating trustees, and trustees for debtors under reorganization.
These efforts have included successful reorganizations of a variety of
entities and the recovery of millions of dollars through preference and
other actions for the benefit of creditors.
Examples of our Bankruptcy Support services are listed
below:
- A large northeastern retail chain filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy
protection; Claybrook & Associates was hired by the court-appointed
trustee to serve as accountants and financial advisors during the reorganization.
Our staff secured the financial records of the books and records, prepared
analysis of 90-day transfers, insider transactions, liquidated the
debtors retirement plan for the benefit of former employees and prepared
federal and state tax returns. Additionally, we provided consulting
and accounting services for the trustee, assisting in the marshalling
of assets and liabilities, trustee reports and insolvency analyses
in pursuit of avoidance actions.
- Claybrook & Associates has expertise
with bankruptcies in the telecommunications industry and their related
entities, including
those that manufacture telecommunications equipment. We have experience
working with large multi-state entities with multiple locations, marshalling
assets, securing and investigating books and records, preparing schedules
and monthly reports, performing avoidance analysis and the pursuit
of actions. Additionally, we are frequently called upon to provide
expert witness testimony and litigation support services in conjunction
with these cases.
- Claybrook & Associates is also experienced in providing
very specific assistance in administering bankruptcy cases. In one
example, we worked with the debtor in possession of a manufacturer
of broadband equipment and their attorneys to conduct liquidation and
comparative analyses of the company’s financial condition in
support of preparing a plan of reorganization. The plan has subsequently
been filed and approved by court.
