Claybrook & Associates is an accounting and financial services consulting
firm with a specialty practice in support of the bankruptcy bar. We are
prepared to act as advisors and accountants to the debtor in possession,
the Trustee, the creditors’ committee or individual creditors to
evaluate the entity seeking protection and recommend practical alternatives.
We believe that information and experience are the
keys to success in coping with the issues associated with troubled companies.
In keeping with this philosophy we have adopted a phased approach to
dealing with distressed entities.
An initial viability analysis of the troubled company is conducted evaluating
the events leading to the insolvency, reviewing recent transfers and
encumbrances of assets and assessing the company’s role as a successful
competitor within its business segment. This leads to a critical assessment
of the likelihood of successful reorganization vs. the benefits of a
sale or liquidation of the company, followed by the development and implementation
of a plan based on the agreed upon outcome.
During the plan implementation, Claybrook & Associates can continue
to act as a consultant to the troubled company or take over the hands-on
management of the business, including coordinating the collection of
receivables and sale of inventory or other assets.
Drawing upon our experience in business valuation,
management analysis and forensic accounting, Claybrook & Associates
organizes and evaluates information and provides services which are critical
to the bankruptcy process, including the following:
- Identification, valuation and management
of assets
- Report on operations
- Liquidity analysis
- Solvency opinions
- Asset tracing
- U.S. Trustee reporting
- Development of plan
of reorganization or liquidation
- Preference analysis
